Sloth’s review of s10 Coire FOTW
So week 1 is now over and that wonderful (or awful) map Coire_rc3 is behind us. KP from Held Hostile was kind enough to make a FOTW for us players to watch so I sat down with him and discussed it. He probably has a lot of time on his hands after being CAL-banned last season for cheating.
KP decided to not respond to any of my questions, likely at the advice of his lawyer OneUP who decided to sit-in on the interview, and disappeared so continuing on….
Here is what some other fraggers thought of the movie unedited:
pF|2BK: "I'd like to give props for a amature movie it was fine. All in all it just lacked content, it seems like players don't know much about steady fragging now a days! Shout out to Devon,Habz,RichTheBitch,RSN and all the kids who wanna be me.....Don't hate the player, Hate the game!
Sloth: sadly you hit the movie spot on without even watching it lol. buncha bad kids shooting at people not even looking at them with like 2 or 3 worthwhile clips."

Final.D Megrr: "I would say that it was done in timely matter, but I wish more people would submit to really get the best frags in the video. I am tired of seeing mediocre frags, including some of mine make it in when you know there are better out there. I think KP did a good job seeing as he doesn't have much experience."

Kmk: " The picture at the beginning was epic even though I don't remember what it was and i just saw it. It just looked pro. The rain effect at the beggining is cool, but coire isn't in the rain forest so we don't need 2 minutes of rainy intro. Song is ok, it works for a frag movie even tho limp dickskit is bad. Slow paced frags make me want to go to sleep. The one almost flick shot thing had weird fire crap on it that i didn't expect. It frightened me and I wet my pants. Transitions are cool with the names all sweet looking in the bottom left and most of the clip transitions look good. Colors = epic status. Credits make me want to not watch them.
Editor’s Note: I have learned from unnamed sources that Coire may be on the way to a secret Jungle G.I. Joe base, which would result in it being in a rainforest. "
Sloth’s Opinion (the only one that matters):
Good:
-JP isn’t in it
-Editing
-Music
-Time Released
Bad:
-UBK isn’t in it
-Intro and Outro are long
-Most frags are mediocre at best
The FOTW was good. The frags were bad. KP did a great job for a first timer (finally losing his virginity) although he only lasted about 3 minutes (2 minutes more then Winters) and the rest was intro/outro. The rain effect was neat except I spent the entire time chuckling because the rain moved with the camera. I was a big fan of the name flippy machine during the frags except it distracted me and was actually more interesting than most of the kills. Its sorta sad that the people who are actually good at this game spent a long time getting there but won’t take 5min to tick their demos so we can have a FOTW with real frags. Watching a kar miss every other shot doesn’t really get my loins burning. The syncing and music were good and I was otherwise entertained. The best part of the FOTW was that it was released within a week, opposed to 2 months like last season.
I score the FOTW as follows:
Editing: 4.5 sticks of butter that Amir eats daily out of 5
Syncing/Music: 82 frags that Ducky gets by baiting out of 100
Frags: 2 Kills that UBK got in one half on Coire out of 10
Intro/Outro: 67.32 is how blatant Gunnergirl is out of 79
Overall: Adding up some fractions, I have determined that this FOTW scores 7 losses out of 8 matches that Iconic played in Invite including their forfeit win.
