Currently, I am running a x850 card. Now I know the 8800gtx is the best with the numbers but I need to know how it runs dods. I also am looking at a 3740 ( I think that is the new ati card). The price has me and well ati has done me no wrong so far. Some input on how these cards run on dods would be appreciated.
Next thing is a keyboard. I run a g5 gaming mouse before they re-released it in a cool blue and an extra side button , but my keyboard is a standard wave keyboard from MS. Now I have been reading alot about idealzons keyboards and it has me interested. I don't want to go oout and spend the money if this is not to much better then the g15 or even the standard one.
Please keep it to facts not some rumors from some buddy of a buddy. I want to get it in the next couple of days.

In my opinion, don't waste your money on a keyboard, a keyboard won't make a difference. i would go with nVidia over ATI aswell just from personal experience, although i don't know how well that 3740 runs compared to the 8800's.

i'm gonna say go with the g92 core, either the GT or the GTS, depending on how much cash you are willing to drop.
As far as keyboards go, i really don't think it matters that much. I like my g15 because i have binds all setup for a couple admin commands, server connects and vent info's which comes in handy. Also i belive the card your talking about is either the 3850 or the 3870?

yep you would be correct! it is the the 3870 and the 3850. I am leaning toward the 3870

you may as well wait till jan and see if the 9 series of nvidea cards come out. When they do the 8800s should get cheap.
I'm an ATI guy but id still have to recommend the 512m 8800 GT and 8800 GTS right now.

I have the XFX GeForce 8800 GTS XXX 320mb and it hasn't failed me once. It runs above and beyond my cpu's caliber.

I have the 8800GT overclocked KO model by EVGA. I have to underclock it to work ;)
I'm not sure what the problem is, either. Could be powersupply, I suppose.

now if your looking for a cheap card for only dods (which i doubt) but for about 50$ the ATI x1650 is a very good card. runs it with 40-50fps on anzio, for 50$ cant complain. but i wouldn't think it could handle the newer gen games.

i run a 7600 and get a good 50 fps on anzio.
ive heard that dod:s FPS actually relies alot on your processor more than your video card apparently, but i could be wrong

I have heard the exact same thing, however it does depend a fair amount on your vid card. For example, i had a 2.0ghz opteron and a 6800gs. My graphics card fucked up, so i borrowed a card off my freind, a radeon 9200... WOW its fucking hard to play dods with 15 fps. On my 6800 with klowns fps config i consistently got 50+ fps, with this card i was lucky to get 30.

Thats just a given, a radeon 9200 is a pos (used to own one) and is nothing near a 6800gs. Thats like trying to compare your 6800 with a 8800, obviously the 8800 is going to stomp the 6800 regardless of what cpu your running, but with the a higher end cpu you will notice a much higher performance leap with the 8800 then the 6800 because the cpu will feed it to much info that it can't keep up while with the 8800 the cpu will most likely be the bottleneck as the 8800 will want too much info that the cpu can't keep up.

Here's some benchmarks from Tomshardware. The 8800GTS 512 and the GT blow the ATI's out of the water. I'd definitely go Nvidia.
