How to get .rar files to work with WMP?

you know how to extract rar files or is there some bad coding that happens when you do this so it fails to work?

I hope you realise .rar's are just compressed archives of files, right? You don't play them directly with your media player. You need to extract the file using a program like winrar, then you should be able to view the files that are inside it.

ok, dont have the winrar program so thats the main reason they were failing, and then some times the coding was bad on the rar file. Thanks guys.

There are media players that will allow you to watch an rar'd video without extracting it, but only if it was archived in "store" mode which is zero compression. This is mainly for used for scene releases in split archives.

a rar is several files compiled together. You then extract them and you can have hundreds of files on your desktop. It can include text documents, programs, wmvs, avi's. Anything.
